The
establishment of legal and regulatory frameworks for telecommunications
and electronic commerce will enable expanded and equitable
access to information and communication technology (ICT).
The dot-GOV Leader Award was active between 2001 and 2006.
Working with USAID, dot-GOV promoted pro-competitive policy
and regulatory reform to enhance economic and social development
and provide universal access, especially for women and geographically
and socially isolated populations.
dot-ORG's
ongoing work to improve ICT policy and regulatory environments
buils on the earlier activities undertaken by the dot-GOV
program.
